Cooking on an induction hob is based on the physical phenomenon called magnetic induction. The key feature of the system is that energy is transferred directly from the inductor to the pan.

Compared to electric and gas hobs, an induction hob is:

  • Safer: Lower temperatures on the glass surface.
  • Faster: food is heated in less time.
  • More precise: the straightener reacts immediately to your control.
  • More efficient: 90% of the absorbed energy is transformed into heat.

Furthermore, after removing the pan from the plate, the transmission of heat is immediately interrupted, and this helps to avoid unnecessary heat loss.

  • Use pots and pans with lids during cooking to avoid unnecessary heat consumption;
  • Choose the pan suitable for the amount of food, in order to adapt the amount of energy to actual needs;
  • Cook with as little water as possible, the energy used is less when smaller quantities of water are used;
  • Lower the selected cooking level when not necessary at high powers.

We recommend the use of saucepans with a flat bottom and a diameter equal to or slightly greater than the cooking zone used. To avoid scratching the hob surface, do not use pans with a rough bottom.

All OPERA hobs can be installed both flush with the top and resting on the top. Each OPERA model is also available with side frames in stainless steel to ensure greater protection of the glass ceramic when the product rests on the top.

To get the maximum effect from the entire area, it must be completely covered by a pot or pan. This applies to all zone sizes if you want to get the maximum effect from the zone in question.

The OPERA hob – OPERA extractor hood connection methods are indicated in the product installation manual.

No, this is completely normal as the energy transfer is very powerful. However, there are some types of pans that vibrate much more than others – cast iron pans are ideal in terms of noise reduction.

At low power levels, the energy delivery is intermittently regulated. The phenomenon is normal and is related to the technology used.

You will always find the serial number label on the underside of the hob. This label is usually silver-grey in color and uniquely identifies your hob. If you need to inform us about the serial number, you should take a picture of the whole label and send it to us.

This is usually due to insufficient air circulation around the hob, so better ventilation should be ensured in the future. It is necessary to provide a slot for the evacuation of hot air on the front of the unit, as indicated in the installation manual.

  • Check that the command buttons are not blocked
  • The buttons respond to swipes, so you don’t need to apply any kind of pressure.
  • Use the middle of your finger, not the tip.
  • Make sure that the controls are always clean, dry and that there are no objects (e.g. tools or cloths) covering them. Even a thin layer of water can make it difficult to operate the controls.

Make sure you have chosen a pot/pan suitable for induction cooking. If in doubt, place a magnet on the bottom of the pan, if this is attracted, the pan/pot is suitable for induction. If your pan is too small or not placed correctly on the hob, it cannot be detected by the hob. Consult minimum diameters in the user manual.

To connect a hob and an OPERA hood with Bluetooth connectivity, it is necessary to follow the Bluetooth pairing procedure indicated in the instruction manual.

For technical reasons, when a connected hob is switched on, it is the only device that sends information to the hood. This is because the Bluetooth connection between the hob and the hood is configured in such a way that it only allows one-way communication from the hob to the hood. Once the cooking process has finished and the hob has been switched off, the remote control and push-button panel will come back into operation.

This is because the Bluetooth connection between the hob and the hood is configured in such a way that it only allows one-way communication from the hob to the hood. Once the cooking process has finished and the hob has been switched off, the remote control and push-button panel will come back into operation.

If your hood remote control doesn’t work or doesn’t seem to receive commands, there are a few things you can check to solve the problem:

Check the distance between the remote control and the hood. If you are too far away, the signal may not reach the hood. Be sure to approach the hood and try again.

Check the batteries in the remote. If the batteries are low, the signal may be too weak to reach the hood. Replace the batteries and try again.

Make sure the connected hob is not switched on. If the hob is on, the hood will only respond to its signals and not to those of the remote control. Turn off the hob and try again.

Check that the remote control is correctly synchronized with the hood. Follow the instructions in the manual to synchronize the remote control with the hood.

If despite these checks the hood still does not respond to the commands, there could be a more serious technical problem. If so, contact a qualified technician for further diagnosis and repairs.

If you want to deactivate the icons related to Bluetooth connectivity on your OPERA hob, you can follow the “Bluetooth de-activation” process indicated in the manual.

It is necessary to pair with an OPERA hood with Bluetooth connectivity.

run ” mode : it means that the hood will continue to operate at a reduced speed for a few minutes after the hob has been switched off. This helps eliminate food odors that can linger in the air, even if the hob is no longer on. After five minutes, the hood will switch off automatically.

To clean the induction hob, remove any food and grease residues using the special glass ceramic scraper, then rinse the hob with water and dry with a clean cloth (only use suitable cleaning items and soft wipes or cloths) .

Using the special scraper (optional), remove sugar or other food residues. This way you can avoid damage to the glass ceramic surface.

The use of scouring pads or harsh chemical cleaners, such as oven sprays, should under no circumstances.

For more information on cleaning the glass ceramic surface, please download the appropriate cleaning booklet from the product page.

  • Remove melted food stains or sugar splatters as soon as possible. If it is allowed to cool on the glass, it can be difficult to remove and can permanently damage the glass surface.
  • Use e.g. a spatula or scraper suitable for induction glass ceramic hobs, but be careful of the hot surfaces of the cooking zones.
  • Scrape the dirt and remove it.
  • Wipe up the dirt or spill with a dish towel or piece of paper towel.

This discoloration is due to cookware deposits from long-term use. Discolouration can be cleaned with a hob cleaner which also provides a protective film to the glass after application.

All OPERA suction hobs can be installed both flush with the worktop and resting on the worktop. Each OPERA model is also available with side frames in stainless steel to ensure greater protection of the glass ceramic when the product is installed resting on the top. The PRIMA PRO suction hob is available only resting on the top.

Furthermore, after removing the pan from the plate, the transmission of heat is immediately interrupted, and this helps to avoid unnecessary heat loss.

The integrated suction in the induction hob makes this appliance even more advantageous by combining two functions in a single object. The suction section, brought closer to the pan, captures all the cooking fumes and leaves the surrounding space free.

The cooking vapors have a maximum ascent speed of one meter per second. The OPERA vented hobs suck at a higher speed than the ascending speed of the vapours, for this reason the suction takes place effectively downwards.

Yes, the OPERA vented hob captures cooking fumes and odors even from 20 cm high pans. With pans larger than 20 cm, it is advisable to place a lid leaving a small part open to direct the cooking fumes towards the extractor fan.

OPERA vented hobs are much quieter than traditional hoods. However, the noise volume depends on the model of the extraction hob and the intensity used, as well as on the installation position and extraction system used.

The OPERA vented hobs, like all hoods, have the purpose of cleaning the air after it has been sucked in. The cooking vapors are extracted and the air is led out of the house through the pipes. If you don’t have the ability to let the air outside the house, you can choose a filtering model and use a recirculation filter to clean the air. However, note that filters do not remove 100% of the vapour, so this must be removed by supplementary ventilation or, for example, by the home’s residential ventilation system.

It is very important to consult the installer of the vacuum hob. It is not possible to state in general how the pipes should be designed, as it depends on the individual conditions of the kitchen. It is therefore necessary for an experienced professional to evaluate the optimal plumbing for each home. The ideal is to minimize the number of bends and avoid section restrictions below 150 mm.

Some OPERA vented hobs have an automatic function for regulating the hood according to the functioning of the cooking area. However, if this function is not present, it is important that you turn the hood on at level 2, at least 5-10 minutes before starting to cook. To ensure optimal air circulation, you should open a window or door when you switch on the hood. The hood should work for approx. 5 minutes on low setting after finishing cooking activities.

To ensure optimal air circulation, you should open a window or door when you switch on the hood. If this is not possible, you can open a window/door at a smaller distance. The hood should work for approx. 5 minutes on low setting after finishing cooking activities.

If it is not possible to let the air out of the house, it is possible to use the recirculating air suction system (filtering version).

The OPERA vented hobs can work in both the aspiration and filtering versions. Extractor hoods conduct fumes and vapors outside the house, while filter hoods clean the air by filtering it and returning it clean inside the house, with the aid of grease and odor filters .

With the filtering version, no exhaust is needed at a point outside the kitchen, the air is cleaned by passing through active carbon filters. In this version of the hood, it is very important that the carbon filters are properly maintained and must be replaced regularly or cleaned as needed.

Note! Filters do not remove steam. This is removed by extra ventilation or e.g. via the house’s central ventilation system.

Recirculation filter, non-regenerable (4 months) Fonda and Nivel : This traditional carbon filter contains grains of carbon that can trap and hold odors. To ensure effective cleaning of the air, regular replacement of the carbon filter is required. Depending on usage, it is recommended to replace the filter approx. every 3 or 4 months, unless otherwise indicated in the accompanying documents.

Recirculation filter, regenerable (3 years) Prima: the Prima product offers a regenerable and technologically advanced recirculation filter. This filter is more efficient than the traditional carbon filter and also has an extra long life. Typically it does not need to be replaced, but simply washed alone without other dishes in the dishwasher at a maximum of 65 degrees. Subsequently, the filter must be dried for 60 minutes in the oven at 90°C before being reassembled in the hood. If you follow this simple maintenance schedule, a regenerable filter can provide effective air purification for up to three years. Regeneration must be carried out every 2 months or when the air quality deteriorates.

Recirculation filter, regenerable ceramic (5 years) Fonda PRO, Nivel PRO, Prima PRO: The high-performance ceramic recirculation filters can be regenerated in the oven for 40 minutes at 200 degrees and are therefore effective in cleaning the air up to five years. Just these ceramic filters clean the air by more than 80 percent the first time you use them.

If you can’t get the vapors out into the open air, you can use a recirculation filter. In this case it is important that the windows are closed when using the extractor hood. Note, however, that filters do not remove steam. The vapor must be removed by supplementary ventilation or, for example, by the residential ventilation system of the house.

The best type of exhaust is solid and smooth. Hoses should only be used if absolutely necessary.

In general, the rule of a maximum 6 meter long waste channel applies.

The OPERA vented hobs can work in both the aspiration and filtering versions. Extractor hoods conduct fumes and vapors outside the house, while filter hoods clean the air by filtering it and returning it clean inside the house, with the help of grease and odor filters .

With the filtering version, there is no need for exhaust pipes at a point outside the kitchen, the air is cleaned by passing through activated carbon filters. In this version of the hood, it is very important that the charcoal filters are properly maintained and must be replaced regularly or cleaned as needed.

You should choose an external motor if you want a lower sound level, it is also very useful if you want a solution with more suction power.

If possible, you should always use fixed drain pipes in your installation and not hoses. Choose the shortest possible pipe and always use the same diameter of the drain pipe. If you use the hose, never bend it 90 degrees, rather use a fixed drain hose. Also, make sure the 90-degree bend is as far away from the hood as possible.

Firstly, it is very important that the ducts are of the same diameter from the extractor hood to where the air is discharged. If the diameter is reduced, there will be a large loss of power on the intake side, while the sound level will increase significantly. In old houses, the diameter of the pipe channel is often 100 or 125 mm, while today a diameter of 150 mm is used.

First, you may need to clean the grease filter. It could also be that the exhaust pipes are not the correct size according to the product manual. finally, the reason may be that the non-return valve is blocked, which is an error that usually occurs during installation.

First of all, it is necessary to check that the filters are positioned correctly inside the product. Also, the drain pipes should be sealed with tape so that there are no cracks.

All OPERA products have a liquid collection tray, easily removable and washable, which allows the collection of at least 0.5 liters. If the quantity of liquid were to be greater, the electronic components of the product would not be damaged in any case since the air flow is conducted outside the electronics.

Objects that fall inside the OPERA aspirator end up in the liquid collection tray which can always be removed for cleaning.

The hood must be cleaned regularly both externally and internally. The parts that come into contact with the cooking vapors can be easily removed from the top or bottom depending on the OPERA hood model. Grease filters, condensation filters and liquid collection tray are removable and dishwasher safe. Once the parts have been removed, all the remaining residues can be eliminated with a few simple gestures. We recommend using a soft cloth moistened with warm water and neutral liquid detergent; the detergent must be poured onto the cloth and not directly onto the hood. Under no circumstances may products containing abrasive agents be used. Do not use harsh cleaners, chemical solvents or oil-based products which can leave residue that can degrade the surface.

Also, refer to the product user manual. It will be described here whether there are any special conditions that need to be taken into account.

It depends on how often and how you cook. But a good rule of thumb is to put the grease filter in the dishwasher every 14 days and wash it at a temperature of approx. 65-70 degrees. If you use a dishwasher, you should set it to a delicate wash. After washing in the dishwasher, a slight discolouration of the metal grease filter may occur, but this does not affect the effectiveness of the filter. Obviously, the filter can also be washed manually in warm water with a neutral liquid detergent.

The OPERA hob – OPERA extractor hood connection methods are indicated in the product installation manual.

Choose a chimney extension. If you have very high ceilings, a special adaptation in the form of a chimney extension can be made in many cases. It is made to order and according to a drawing. Please note that since an individually fitted chimney is an additional order which is produced separately, the expected delivery time for custom-fitting is approx. 5-6 weeks after approved design.

Choose a hood with a wall outlet. If you have the opportunity, you can choose a hood where the exhaust can be led directly to the back of the hood. This way, you don’t need an extra long chimney.

Oblique cut. If you have a sloping ceiling, a special fit in the form of miter cutting and fitting the internal suspension can be done in many cases. It is made to order and according to a drawing. Please note that since an individually fitted fireplace is an additional order which is produced separately, the expected delivery time for custom-fitting is approx. 5-6 weeks after approved design.

You should choose an external motor if you want a lower sound level, it is also very useful if you want a solution with more suction power.

The main rule is that the hood must be at least as wide as the hob, but it can also be wider. Furthermore, the hood must of course be installed according to the regulations and you should make sure that the pipes are not reduced. Built-in ceiling hoods should preferably be 10-20 cm wider than the hob due to the distance between the hob and hood.

If possible, you should always use drain pipes that are fixed in your installation and not flexible. Choose the shortest possible piping and always use the same diameter of the drain pipe. If you use flexible hoses never bend it 90 degrees, rather use a fixed exhaust hose. Also, make sure the 90-degree bend is as far away from the hood as possible.

There are special rules for hoods placed above gas hobs. According to the reference legislation, there must be a distance of at least 80 cm between the gas burners and the lower part of the hood (some hoods must be positioned even higher – follow the instructions for use). In new buildings, the hood above a gas hob must have the air vent outside the home.

Firstly, it is very important that the ducts are of the same diameter from the extractor hood to where the air is discharged. If the diameter is reduced, there will be a large loss of power on the intake side, while the sound level will increase significantly. The hood must always be positioned as described in the manual attached to the product. Pay particular attention to the fact that there are always minimum requirements for the distance from the hob to the hood.

If the hood runs at the same speed, it could be due to an error in the exhaust conditions. You can check this by removing the hood and letting it blow freely. The error can possibly be corrected by correcting the shrinkage, making sure that the return damper is not blocked or by replacing the roof covering.

External motors, for example installed in attics, must always be insulated to prevent condensation from forming in the motor or in the electrical system. Insulating material is often included for the outboard motor.

First of all check that the batteries are not dead and replace them if so. Very often the remote control does not work because a connection between the hood and the remote control has not been established. In the user manual you will find a detailed description of how these two devices can be connected to each other.

You will always find the identification code inside the hood, behind the grease filter. The code is usually a silver-grey tag that identifies the specific hood. If you need to provide us with the ID, you should take a picture of the whole label and send it to us at info@operahsg.de.

In the event of a power failure or breakdown, it may happen that the OPERA extractor hood no longer perceives the commands from the push-button panel. In this case, you need to unplug the device from the power supply and plug it back in. If you control your hood by remote, try reconnecting the remote and hood first. If this does not solve the problem, please contact our customer service.

If the hood flashes on the display, the filter most likely needs to be cleaned. The indication for filter replacement/cleaning can, for example, function in such a way that after active use, a red light starts flashing to draw attention to the fact that the filters need to be washed. The alarm/filter timer must be reset manually, as per the manual. In the user manual of your hood you will find a description of how the function works on your model.

The OPERA hob – OPERA extractor hood connection methods are indicated in the product installation manual.

To get the maximum effect from the entire area, it must be completely covered by a pot or pan. This applies to all zone sizes if you want to get the maximum effect from the zone in question.

We recommend the use of saucepans with a flat bottom and a diameter equal to or slightly greater than the cooking zone used. To avoid scratching the hob surface, do not use pans with a rough bottom.

  • Use pots and pans with lids during cooking to avoid unnecessary heat consumption;
  • Choose the pan suitable for the amount of food, in order to adapt the amount of energy to actual needs;
  • Cook with as little water as possible, the energy used is less when smaller quantities of water are used;
  • Lower the selected cooking level when not necessary at high powers.

Cooking on an induction hob is based on the physical phenomenon called magnetic induction. The key feature of the system is that the energy is transferred directly from the heat generator to the pan.

Compared to electric hobs, an induction hob is:

  • Safer: Lower temperatures on the glass surface.
  • Faster: food is heated in less time.
  • More precise: the straightener reacts immediately to your control.
  • More efficient: 90% of the absorbed energy is transformed into heat.

Furthermore, after removing the pan from the plate, the transmission of heat is immediately interrupted, and this helps to avoid unnecessary heat loss.

It is very important to consult the craftsman who will install the hood. It is not possible to state in general how the pipes should be designed, as it depends on the individual conditions of the kitchen. It is therefore necessary for an experienced professional to evaluate the optimal plumbing for each home.

Some OPERA extractor hoods have an automatic function for regulating the hood according to the functioning of the cooking area. However, if this function is not present, it is important that you turn the hood on at level 2, at least 5-10 minutes before starting to cook. To ensure optimal air circulation, you should open a window or door when you switch on the hood. The hood should work for approx. 5 minutes on low setting after finishing cooking activities.

If it is not possible to let the air out of the house, it is possible to use the recirculating air suction system (filtering version).

The OPERA extractor hoods can work in both the suction and filtering versions. Extractor hoods conduct fumes and vapors outside the house, while filter hoods clean the air by filtering it and returning it clean inside the house, with the aid of grease and odor filters .

First, you may need to clean the grease filter. It could also be that the exhaust pipes are not the correct size according to the product manual. finally, the reason may be that the non-return valve is blocked, which is an error that usually occurs during installation.

  • Use pots and pans with lids during cooking to avoid unnecessary heat consumption;
  • Choose the pan suitable for the amount of food, in order to adapt the amount of energy to actual needs;
  • Cook with as little water as possible, the energy used is less when smaller quantities of water are used;
  • Lower the selected cooking level when not necessary at high powers.

The OPERA extractor hoods can work in both the suction and filtering versions. Extractor hoods conduct fumes and vapors outside the house, while filter hoods clean the air by filtering it and returning it clean inside the house, with the aid of grease and odor filters .

With the filtering version, no exhaust is needed at a point outside the kitchen, the air is cleaned by passing through active carbon filters. In this version of the hood, it is very important that the charcoal filters are properly maintained and must be replaced regularly or cleaned as needed.

Note! Filters do not remove steam. This is removed by extra ventilation or e.g. via the house’s central ventilation system.

The OPERA suction hoods can work in both the suction and filtering versions.

In old houses, the diameter of the pipe channel is often 100 or 125 mm, while today a diameter of 150 mm is used.

First of all, it is necessary to check that the filters are positioned correctly inside the product. Also, the drain pipes should be sealed with tape so that there are no cracks.

First, you may need to clean the grease filter. It could also be that the exhaust pipes are not the correct size according to the product manual. finally, the reason may be that the non-return valve is blocked, which is an error that usually occurs during installation.
